Forestry Mulching & Land Clearing in Knox County, TN

Knox County sits squarely in the Ridge-and-Valley province, where long parallel limestone ridges run southwest to northeast with narrow valleys between them. That layout shapes almost every job we take here: a tract in Corryton or Mascot is usually a mix of open valley pasture and a steep, cedar-and-honeysuckle ridge nose that hasn't been touched in twenty years. Around Knoxville, Farragut, Powell, Halls, and Karns we spend just as much time on infill work — reclaiming the wooded back half of a five-acre lot, opening a view toward the ridge line, or clearing a building pad on ground that was left wild while the subdivision grew around it.

Soils here are the classic red Fullerton and Dewey clays weathered off limestone and dolomite, which hold a machine well in dry weather and turn slick fast after a rain. Knox County is also karst country — sinkholes, springs, and shallow rock ledges show up constantly along Beaver Creek and Ten Mile Creek drainages, so we plan mulching passes and grading around them instead of trying to fill them. Common invasives on Knox tracts are privet, bush honeysuckle, multiflora rose, and mature Eastern red cedar; all four mulch cleanly in a single pass and leave a ground cover that slows the regrowth we'd otherwise be back fighting in two seasons.

Hands down phenomenal experience. These gentlemen are top notch professionals and pay attention to detail. I manage several forested lots and build in an environmentally friendly manner and I needed a crew that understood that importance.

These guys did a great job and I had a variety of challenges on my property. They have brand new equipment and Bob, the operator, is as skilled as they come. I'm sure I'll have them back!
